This poll is likely to close the debate launched in the National Assembly on the word "chocolatine".
According to an IFOP study for the Federation of Bakery Businesses, 84% of French people use the name "chocolate bread" against only 16% who use "chocolatine".
Le constat est donc sans appel.
The verdict is therefore clear.
And unsurprisingly it is the inhabitants of New Aquitaine who largely voted in favor of chocolatine: 63% of them against only 6% in Île-de-France.
Listen to the reaction of people from Toulouse this morning on this topic.
- I don't know about chocolate bread.
Ça ne me parle pas !
It does not ring a bell!
I think it's quite intriguing by the way, because I think "chocolatine" is more suitable than "chocolate bread".
- I'm not from Toulouse so I had to get used to saying "chocolatine".
So if I need to change again it will be complicated.
In May 2018 ten members of the party The Republicans defended an amendment to promote the word "chocolatine".
